Services to Youth

Services to Youth (STY) was the first program facet created. This faces focuses on the empowerment of black youth to help them become successful and productive citizens- academic, cultural, career development, and mentoring.

Services to Youth Facet facilitates:

  • AWARENESS: Despite making up nearly half of the US workforce, women are vastly underrepresented in the science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) workforce – only 26% of STEM jobs are filled by women.

  • COLLABORATION: Abi Olukeye, Founder and CEO of SMART GIRLS HQ, in 2018 to support parents of young girls.

Services to Youth Facet encourages all other Facets to participate weekly in the facilitation of creative STEM explorations with over 140 5th grade girls:

  • Participating as panelists showcasing STEM Professionals.

  • Celebrating milestones by providing goodie bags and birthday cards.

  • Community focused Pitches for the girls to solve by executing the
    “5 Whys Problem Solving Method.”

  • Sponsored the “Dear Smart Girls” kits to be sold in the Charlotte Douglas International Airport.
